HINKLE RE-SIGNS ON THE DOTTED LINE July 28, 2055
Fans were delighted to hear that after a Frick League player of the week performance (back to back weeks a Mounties player won it), C Davenport Hinkle has re-signed with the the team for 6 years, $72 million. The layout is $11 million over the first 5 years with a $17 million player option for the final year. The 30-year-old Hinkle is currently in his seventh season of the BBA, all with Vancouver, and looks to continue his solid career here.

"I'm very happy to be staying," said Hinkle, "this city means a lot to me and my family and I can't imagine playing anywhere else."

While some are concerned about his average offensive game, he has always shown to be a very good defensive player, a trait very important if you want to play in the catcher position.

Hinkle has a career stat-line of .240 AVG, .280 OBP, .408 SLG, 128 Home Runs and 384 RBIs in 806 games played. He has made 2 All-Star game appearances

GONZALEZ JOINS 3,000 HIT CLUB

Ángel González was drafted by Vancouver 18 years ago, back when the draft was held during the season. Now, he joins a very exclusive club, as he becomes just the 31st player in BBA history to have 3,000 Career hits. The hit took place on July 26, 2055. In the bottom of the 11th against Twin City, where after drawing himself into a hitters count of 2-0, he drove a line drive single into right field. Unfortunately the team would go on to lose the game in the 12th after they failed to capitalize off the lead-off hit, however the Vancouver crowd gave him his much deserved ovation.

"It was very special," said Gonzalez, "obviously I wish we could've won the game tonight but this will be a moment I never forget."

This isn't the first milestone he has reached this season, as earlier he acquired his 400th career Home run.
