Valencia Stars Report: Rookie Draft # 4

The 2010 rookie draft is in the books and the Stars picked a few solid picks that can help them in the future....

Round 1: SP/MR Julian Anderson is 22 from Ashland, NJ had a solid college career...Anderson over 4 years was 24-12 2.81 era and in 358 inning had 460 K's...Anderson is a power pitcher as his fastball gets up to 98 mph and has a wicked changeup to go with it to throw batters of balance...Next year Anderson will try to work on a curve ball to give him 3 soild pitches so he could end up in the rotation....Anderson with some hard work could be ready by 2011 either in the pen or as a starter....

Round 2: OF Ben Weeks...Weeks only 17 but he has the potiental to be a soild player...Weeks was picked as the # 34 pick is very raw...Weeks played only one year at his High School but made a huge impact...Weeks hit .532 with 21 xtra base hits but most important he can fly...Weeks is so fast, in 22 games he stole 34 bases....If he develops he could be a very good player....

Round 3: OF Jorge Corral.. Corral played to years at High School and did well... Corral is 6'5 and is another speedster...He hit .344 with a OPS of 1.062... Corral has great gap power and hopefully he will devope into a soild player...
