Valencia Stars Report: 36-37 (.493) # 4

Post by leejay56 » Sat Dec 29, 2012 11:35 am

The Stars were coming off a horrible year last season with only 57 games they won...So far this season the Stars are only one game below .500 with a 36-37 record.. So the big question can the Stars come back and win 80 games this year...Its possible....

A few things have really gone there way so far this season...Pitching is doing much better...Last season the team ERA was over 5.00 but this season the Stars are at 4.46 and thats 5th overall in the JL...SP Will Cameron is off to a very good start this year..The 27 year old is 7-5 and a 3.50 ERA..The most wins Cameron has every won was 8 last season....

SP/MR Bob Blaisdell after last season 2-6 9.67 ERA was almost released but after a good spring the Stars gave him one last shot....Well Blaisdell has done great so far...His record is 7-2 with a 3.86 ERA....In 2004 with the MARQUETTE SUNS Blaisdell did get 14 wins and its possible this season he might reach that level again....

SP Deshawn Pines also is having a very good start...Pines is 6-6 with a 3.89 ERA for the STARS so far....Pines best win total is 9 and he can surpass that this year too....

Lastely new comer vet SP Eladio Beltran is making a comeback and with his 6 wins so far all he needs is one more win to tie his all time high of 7 wins....

All four of these pitchers are having career years so far and has really helped the Stars have a very good year considering last years record....Hopefully these SP can continue there winning pace through out the year....Time will tell,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,

All four of those guys have much lower BABIP than last year. Is your defense improved?
