Three years after what the locals called the Russelville Experiment, the trio of coaches who had no experience have been move from the Rookie Club in Russelville to the Short Season A squad in Saturn.
After going 40-28 in 2060 and 44-24 in 2061 prior to last season’s 33-35 record where many of the players were promoted halfway through the season, the Russelville Rockets went 117-87 during that span.
Manager Hayden Froggatt has a Good rating on development and an excellent rating on mechanics. Hayden signed a three year extension that increased his salary from $35K per year up to $50K
Hitting Coach Luis “Dirt Dog’ Gutierrez also signed an extension bumping his salary up from $35K up to $45K per year. The 43 year-old is rated as Good on Development while being rated as Average on Mechanics and Teaching Hitting. Look for Luis to go through coach development over each of the next two off-seasons.
Pitching Coach Cristobal Acosta has the highest ratings of the three coaches. The 58 year-old has Excellent Ratings in Development and Teaching Pitching while he is considered Outstanding at influencing mechanics. He is in the last year of his contract at $90K per season but look for him to be extended soon.
Once the draft is conducted, we will see what all the new staff at Saturn will have to work with and if their success continues.
