Galaxy Gas 2060.19 – Stars Rotation Experiment Goes Awry

Although a sample size of one will never be considered significant, one event can sure make fans hold their breath while they wait for the rest of the season to unfold.

Losing the anchor of the rotation in the off-season, Adam Hines, was a huge blow for Valencia as they try to figure out how to right the financial ship it is in, the rotation was flipped on its head and turned sideways to a large extent. Moved to the top of the rotation was Juan Garcia. The opening day result went well with Juan getting the win allowing 2 runs in 7.1 innings.

Xavier Vargas had similar success in his first outing getting a win while hurling 5.1 shutout innings.

Then came along Jonathan Bryant. In a move to try and get Ruban Vasquez out of the rotation and onto the waiver wire, Bryant was moved from the bullpen to the rotation. He proved effective in the bullpen the last few seasons. He had a high stamina rating of 9 but he only has three pitches in his arsenal (Curveball, Cutter and Changeup). The result in his first outing was astounding from the scoreboard operator perspective allowing 5 runs and 7 baserunners in 2/3 of an inning which calculates to an ERA of 67.50 and WHIP of 10.50.

The current guess is that Bryant will stay in the rotation for one or two more starts prior to making a move but if that time comes do not be surprised if another trade is coming or if Ruban is retrieved from the waiver wire.

tough to lose Hines at the top of the rotation. Bryant not the worst fill in for the end of the rotation though.

Seems like Bryant has settled down a bit. Has won his last two outings giving up 4 runs in 13 innings allowing 11 hits/4 walks while striking out 7. I will take those numbers from the #3 spot.
