While waiting around for opening day to arrive, the Valencia front office dealt for another bullpen option and acquired leftie reliever Theron Miscouri from their rivals at Bikini for $25k. The 34 year-old is in the final year of his $1.3M contract which leaves the flexibility that GM Greathouse seems to be aiming for so he can decide which longer-term strategy will be implemented as the 2060 season unfolds.

Used sparingly at Bikini over the last two seasons, Theron has posted a 2.18 ERA in 2058 followed up by a miserly 1.21 ERA in 2059. He is an extreme groundball pitcher which is another thing that the front office seems to be focusing on lately hoping that the slick fielding infielders will be getting the majority of the chances to put would be baserunners away before they get to first.

It is anticipated that Theron will be used primarily against left-handed batters for the next couple of weeks. Qadir bin Gamal has been sent to the injured reserve list for the next week or two with a sore elbow which opened up the roster slot for Miscouri.
