the Stars had another bad month in June going 10-17 and over the last two months after there 14-12 start have won only 20 games while losing 35 games and dropping now 15 games out of first place....
The pitching has done there job rating 4th or 5th in most catagories...The offense in most catagories are 12th of the JL divsion...So far the Stars have scored 366 runs not enough to support the Stars pitching...

Vet SP Phil Leftwich leads the Stars with a 3.68 ERA...Leftwich has 3 CG games so far and 14 QS out of 21 starts for the Stars...Leftwich is coming off a 19 game win season last season and if he got more runs could be winning 15 plus games a year....

RP Deshawn Pines finally could be having his breakout year..After several years in the minors the Stars brought up Pines for a few Sept callups and then last year he played the whole year up with the Stars...Pines posted a lofty era of 5.10 but the Stars wanted too see Pines one more season to see how he does...Pines is off to a great start here in 2003....Pines has already thrown in 36 games and has a 2.92 era..He has thrown 40 inningsand has 42 K's...Much better year for Pines....

SS George Bellairs hit 2 home runs against the Omaha Barnstormers, going 2-5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored on June 29th then the next day Bellairs did it again hit 2 home runs against the Omaha Barnstormers, going 2-3 with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored..Bellairs HIT 4 HOMERS in two days....Bellairs now has 14 homers for the season....

SP Keith Cabana put together quite a successful stretch in June for the Stars, earning himself the Johnson League Pitcher of the Month award. Cabana racked up a 5-1 record in 7 starts, posting a 1.67 ERA over 54 innings and striking out 43. Overall Cabana is 12-11 with a 3.95 era....
