AUGUST is the month when things should heat up and the Stars make there push towards first place...Well so far not good for the Stars...The first week of August is over and the Stars went 3-7 and California went 7-3...The Stars slipped to 4 games back in the wild card race and cant afford to slip anymore...The Stars need to make up the 4 games hopefully here in August...

The Stars took a shot on veteren outfielder Max 'The Hammer' Dubois..The Stars were in need for some extra power and they felt Dubois can be the guy...Well he has done great and so far he has smashed 17 homers and drove in 52 runs...In a game a week ago Dubois separated shoulder and will miss all of August and maybe some of September...Not a good time for the Stars to loose there top power hitter...Hopefully Dubois will be ready for the streach run in September...

Vet outfielder Gary Barr at 38 is showing no signs of slowing down this season...The 38 year old vet is hitting .316 has 24 doubles and 15 homers, 4 triples and has drove in 61 RBIS...Last week Barr hit double 501 in hsi career and ealier in the year picked up his 3000 hit..He now has 3,124 hits so far in his career...Barr is still signed one more year here and who knows at age 40 when his contract is over will he then retire...
