Valencia Stars: Off Season # 1

The Stars signed a few players during the off season...The main target this off season was add some more outfield depth... Besides the three additions the STARS will go with pretty much the same roster as last season....

The Stars added 3 outfielders who will add more depth to there roster..

1. Jeremy Gray who was originally drafted by the Stars can play all three positions...Gray has very good speed and over 7 seasons Gray has a career batting average of .287 with a .322 OBP...Gray has no power but is a good contact and speed guy..

2. José Cruz a former number 1 pick back in 2009 will give the Stars another good contact and on base type of batter....Cruz career batting average is .302 .360 OBP over 10 seasons...Cruz D lacks so you will see him in LF and DH for the most part of the season...

3. Matthew Moore was a good backup Outfielder/DH type of hitter...Over a 7 year career Moore has a batting average of .258 and .345 OBP...Moore could fit in well as the fourth OF and DH for the Stars...

Long time INF Roger Rouse will miss the season with torn labrum (Shoulder). He's expected to miss about 8-9 months...Rouse has played 11 seasons with the Stars and has a career batting average of .258 and a .354 OBP...Rouse signed a one year deal to stay with the Stars for his 12 season during the winter...

I should have bit higher on Gray. Think he is a real good pickup
