Valencia Stars Report: The Starting Three # 7

Post by leejay56 » Sat Jul 12, 2014 6:55 pm

The Stars year ended with the pitching staff having another solid year this season...The Stars had 3 starters that had over 200 K's and 4 starters that had ERA in the mid 3s ERA...

SP Sheng Yenwho had a 17 win season last year had his best season this year...Yen started 35 games, ended up with a 13-11 record...In 233 innings he had 244 k's and his ERA was 3.66...This was Yen's best overall year.. Yen last game he pitched was his best as Yen on Fire, Strikes out 15 Mounties to win the game 4-1...

SP Brian Middleton had another solid season with the Stars...Middleton record wasn't stellar as he went 12-13 but had a solid 3.42 ERA and had 234 k's in 245 innings...In the last 7 years its the 6th time he has over 200 k's...The problem Middleton had this season was run support...Middleton should have at least 5 plus extra wins if the Stars scored more runs....

SP Julian Anderson had a solid season going 12-15 3.87 and in 239 innings had 208 k's...Anderson just didn't get the run support that he needed to get more wins...Overall Anderson did have his best overall year last season....

Yen has some of the craziest pitching ratings splits I have ever seen.

Yeah, that's insane. Bears out in his stat line vs. LHB and vs. RHB. Can't deny he had a good season though.
