The Stars are playing around .500 baseball and are now 10 games out behind California but still have a shot at the wildcard slot as they trail Omaha buy 4 games with four weeks to play...
The starting pitching has been solid with a team ERA of 3.89 3rd overall and the RP has struggled with a 4.25 ERA, 7th overall....So what has happened. Injuries, players coming back but ratings went down after the injury, career ending injury to OF Jared Delger...The offence which was once top in the MBBA is now struggling in every category..
The Stars did add two free agents and they have both helped out...Outfielder Bob Goodwin who as added some good pop for the Stars...Goodwin in 119 games is hitting .247 20 homers and has 60 Rbis...
Also the Stars added in DH/1B Don Goodwin who has played in 25 games and has a .247 batting average 3 homers, 14 RBIS....
The next four weeks are key, if they come together it will be close..Of course allot depends on what OMAHA does...

Hopefully something different than what we have been doing lately... The JL Wildcard race is exciting, but only because Madison, Omaha, and Valencia are all limping at the same time here. If one of us gets hot, it might be Goodnight Irene to everyone else's chances.leejay56 wrote:The next four weeks are key, if they come together it will be close..Of course allot depends on what OMAHA does...
