Valencia Stars Report: 73-63 (.537) # 5

The Stars were doing great until August rolled around...In August the Stars just fell apart, nothing going good for them and had a 10-18 record. California took complete advantage of the Stars fall and now have a 4 game lead over the Stars...So with 4 weeks left the Stars need to turn everything around and have a decent September so worst case they can take the wild card slot...
This same team last year hit very good with a .270 team batting average...Everyone was getting on base and scoring lots of runs...This year almost the same team the team batting average is .250 which is a huge difference maker this season....Catcher Jason Dunn has averaged .295 and last year hit .322 with 37 homers...This season Dunn is hitting .247 26 homers, big difference...CF/LF Jared Delger last year hit .322 27 homers and so far this season Delger is at .247 15 homers....All the Stars players are slumping this season....

Same with the starting pitching...Ace Starting pitcher Brian Middleton last season went 17-11 but this season Middleton is 11-13 although his ERA of 3.65 is good but not getting enough run support...

The Stars are looking forward to a great September....
