Galaxy Gas 2063.04 - Stars Draft Reliever
The Valencia front office wasted no time in adding to the pitching side of the ranks with its 4th pick of the first round in the 2063 draft. The selection was 19 year-old reliever Juan Evans. The selection will no doubt raise a few eyebrows picking a reliever so early in the draft.
Evans can throw smoke with the best of them as his fastball already clocks in at 99 mph. Last year in college Evans stuck out 41 batters in 25 innings on his way to producing a 1.44 ERA .
From a ratings perspective, Evans has 9-rated Stuff with a potential of 12. His Movement potential is 7 and is Control potential is 6. The Valencia faithful are hoping that is current Control rating makes it to 6. Evans overall rating is currently 40 with a potential of 80 according to the scouting reports.
A screenshot of Evans’ particulars are shown below: This seems to be a part of the effort to bolster the arms in the farm system. Last draft showed Valencia picking pitchers in rounds 4 through 12 as well as adding 7 others via the Firesale trades with a potential of 40 or more.

No head scratching here. I can tell (and was brought up in a podcast episode recently) that stud relievers, especially the multi-inning variety, has some serious value in the BBA.
