The 28 year old southpaw and former fourth round pick back in 2049 had a solid 2060 season. Upon hearing the news, the fan interest nudged up a notch from 66 to 67 returning the fan interest to within a point of the 2059 number of 68 prior to losing Adam Hines and Martin Roman to free agency.
Jonathan’s stats this year which is his first season after being moved from the bullpen to the starting rotation included a record of 13-5 with a 4.01 ERA. His numbers took a downward turn in September like many of the members on the Valencia squad as he went 0-2 and saw his ERA rise from 3.48 to the season-ending number of 4.01. As a starter in 2060, Jonathan had 14 out of his 32 starts where he went 6 or more innings giving up 2 or fewer earned runs.
Jonathan’s numbers in the bullpen in 2059 were a 3-0 record with a 3.14 ERA in 44 appearances. His WHIP increased from 1.05 in 2059 to 1.31 this past season. How much of that was due to the switch from the bullpen versus the law of averages playing out is anyone’s guess at this point. The inside word says that the plan for 2061 is to keep Bryant in the rotation somewhere between the #3 and #5 spot.
