Galaxy Gas 2060.21 – Stars Draft Pitcher Bao-tian Teoh

Valencia used its first round pick today to select a starting pitcher for the second year in a row. While hanging out with his grandparents in Taiwan, Bao-tian Teoh received the call from the Stars front office telling him that they were making the 17 year-old right handed flame thrower their first pick and the 12th player selected overall.

Bao has four pitches that he can mix in with pin-point control and has a potential overall rating of 55.
Much like last year’s first-round pick, Ernesto Escalante and second round pick Bhadrasila Chetlapalli, Bao does not have high end stuff but can throw at 98 mph and he is projected to have an immense amount of control. Bao’s Stuff/Movement/Control potential is 6/6/7.

While in high school, Bao 104 batters in 89 innings over his last two years of high school. Valencia scouts are projecting that Bao could develop into a #2/#3 starter.

The Pearl! He was part of a nice run on pitchers there in the middle of the round. I feel like grabbing a decent pitcher every year is a good plan and there was a top heavy class this year it seems. Drops off a bit.
