Galaxy Gas 2059.33 – Roaring in Russelville

With the 2059 first round pick doing an 8 -week stint on IR, the second round pick for Valencia is doing his best to pick up the slack. Starting pitcher Bhadrasila Chetlapalli has had 5 starts to date in Russelville after being selected as the 47th overall pick. In his first start, Bhad went 6.1 innings where he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits. In his second outing Bhad again went 6.1 innings but this time only allowing 1 run on 5 hits.

Bhad then turned it up a notch in his third outing pitching 7 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits followed by another 7 inning outing producing the same results. In his last outing of the 5 starts, Bhad went 6 innings allowing 1 baserunner where he again went scoreless while he was on the mound.

Overall, Bhad has fashioned a 0.83 ERA and a stingy 0.55 WHIP on his way to a 3-2 record. These are stats that are most likely not sustainable over a long period of time, but certainly stats that are turning some heads in the Valencia organization.

Over his last 20 innings pitched, Bhad has not allowed a run while giving up 7 hits and walking none while recording 12 strikeouts.

If things continue at this pace, look for Bhad to get promoted to the Saturn club in the Short Season A circuit sometime within the month.

Pretty well developed 18 year old. Has strong ratings for rookie league. Will need to keep the production up into the high minors.
