VET CLOSER Marty Powers as he announced his retirement from pro baseball. Rumors have had him on the verge of retirement since late last week but were not confirmed until today. He has a won-lost record of 105-102...Powers is 11 saves away from 300 career saves...Its going to be close as he is averaging 6 saves a month...It would be too bad if he is just a few short....
Utility player Jeffrey Osborne finally at age 31 got his chance at geeting on to the Stars roster as a utility player...Osborne is showing the Stars that he belongs as he is hitting .310 with a .423 OBP and over the last 39 games he is hitting .600...So for now Osborne looks to be staying up on this roster and could be a lock at the backup role next season too.....
