The Madison Wolves hammer Hawaii reliever Bob Westbrooks for five runs in the 8th inning to take a lead then hold on to steal the win. Westbrooks made 22 pitches and gave up the five runs on three hits and a walk in 2/3 of an inning. The coup de grace was a three-run homer by Gary Fellers.
Ruben bin Majid al Din allowed a run on two hits with a walk and two Ks in 5.1 innings and left the game with the score tied at 1-1.
Rookie Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez was 2 for 2 with a two-run homer and an RBI double (22). Carlos Sanchez was 1 for 4 with a double (27), an RBI and scored a run.

The Trops even the series with win over the Wolves. The Trops broke a 1-1 tie with a two-out, four-run rally in the 6th inning. Hawaii loaded the bases on Wolves starter Chris Stout to chase him from the game after he gave a two singles, a double and a walk with two Trops scoring. Wesley Turner came on in relief and gave up a couple of more runs on after a Mitch Wareham single.
Daniel Thornton allowed a run on three hits, walked two and fanned six in five innings of work. Jose Ordonez picked up the win allowing a run on two hits with a K in 1.1 innings to improve to 6-1. Utkan Gocek picked up his 11th save with two scoreless innings allowing a hit with a K.

The Wolves steal another close game against the Hawaii bullpen to take a 2-1 series lead. Hawaii reliever Jose Valle gave up a run on a hit while fanning three in two innings of work to take the loss. Valle gave up a lead-off triple to Joe Drayton, Jr. and a sac fly to cough up the lead.
Mitch Wareham was 3 for 4, with a double (17), scored a run and drove in a run. Jorge Dodd was 1 for 4 with a ribbie.

The Tropics bullpen imploded for the 2nd time in the series allowing six runs in the 8th to the Wolves as they get the series win. Marty Pearce recorded just one out as the Wolves were efficient scoring four runs on three hits and a walk on him. He takes the loss to fall to 5-2 and inflate his ERA to 5.20.
The Trops tried to rally in the bottom of the 8th putting up three runs on the Wolves before Clint ‘Spinach’ Thomas snuffed it out. Jose Ordonez doubled in a run, Dodd drove a run in with a fielder’s choice and Vincente Mendez singled to score Jeff Appleton before ‘Spinach’ did his thing.
The Wolves win the series 3-1.
