The Hawaii Tropics break a 2-2 tie against the Krill with a four-run outburst in the 5th to take the lead then lean on the bullpen to get the win. Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez had the big hit for Hawaii in the 5th with a three-run homer (15). Martinez also tripled (2) in a run and singled. Eric Owens added his 4th homer of the season in the 4th inning.

Ruben bin Majid al Din made the start throwing 60 pitches in 4.1 innings allowing two runs on four hits and a walk. He fanned four in a no decision. Jose Ordonez earned the win with 1.2 scoreless innings with a walk and Utkan Gocek made the save with a clean 9th with a K.

WP- Nelson Williams (2-3)

LP- Slobodan Omeragic (0-3)

Save- None

Time: 3:52

Attendance- 44,826 at ‘Iolani Palace

The Krill victimized Trops starter Slobodan Omeragic for six runs on two hits and SEVEN walks in 3.2 innings. Bikini starter Nelson Williams held Hawaii’s offense at bay allowing just a run over 5.1 innings. His bullpen did the rest holding the Trops to a run the final 3.2 innings.

The Hawaii offense scored both runs on solo homers by Jose Ordonez (2) and Jeff Appleton (2). Rivera is still on fire going 3 for 4 but those hits were wasted as he was stranded on base.

Bikini wins the series 2-1.

The Trops have gone 4-8 in May but are still within striking distance of Pacific front runner Portland, second place Bikini and tied with Sacramento. Portland and Sacramento have been playing .500 ball in that time, while Bikini is 7-5.

Man, Hawaii really fills out their stadium on a consistent basis (currently 14th in attendance but 3rd in capacity at 97.8%)
