The Tropics took a one-run lead into the 8th inning when reliever Utkan Gocek gave up a single run to tie the game with the Lumberjacks. Gocek remained in the game but worked into trouble again in the top of the 9th. He left the game with runners on second and third for reliever Bob Westbrooks. Westbrooks gave up a hit allowing one of the inherited runners to score to give Portland the lead. Lumberjacks reliever Sameer Abdul-Malik gave up a hit but escaped further damage for the save.
Hawaii starter Ruben bin Majid al Din allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk to the Lumberjacks offense. He struck out two in 3.1 innings of work. Alex Garcia relieved Majid al Din and threw 3.2 scoreless innings allowing no hits while issuing a walk.
Jorge Dodd was 1 for 3 with a solo homer (5). Mitch Wareham was 1 for 4 with a double (4), scored a run and drove in a run.

Trops starter Slobodan Omeragic had his worst start of the season giving up six earned runs and eight runs total in a loss. He allowed this runs on nine hits, a walk and struck out one.
The Tropics offense managed just one run on eight hits and a walk. Lorenzo Holloway was 2 for 3 with a walk and scored a run on an Armando Medina fielders’ choice 4-3 ground out.

The Tropics offense stays patient against Portland starter Bernie Stuart and finally gets to the veteran Lumberjack in the 7th for three runs to chase him from the game. Jorge Dodd began the rally with a walk then scored the eventual game winning run on a double by Jose Ordonez.
Dodd was 1 for 2 and Jose Ordonez was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run. Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez was 1 for 4 with his 6th homer of the season in the 4th inning.
Daniel Thornton was sharp as he pitched five innings allowing a run on three hits and a walk while striking out two batters. Cale Cote earned the win throwing 27 pitches in 1.2 scoreless innings. He allowed a hit and fanned two batters. Harry Edwards pitched an inning giving up a hit to earn the save.
Portland wins the series 2-1.
