The Tropics and Lumberjacks play to a 9-9 tie through 9 innings in the series opener before Hawaii erupts for four runs in the 10th to take a four-run lead. Bob Westbrooks came on in the bottom of the 10th end set down Portland 1-2-3 to end the game.
Hawaii took the lead after a triple (3) by Mitch Wareham that scored Carlos Antunez from first. The Trops weren’t done as Carlos Sanchez singled in Wareham to put Hawaii up two runs. The Lumberjacks brought in reliever Ernie Mark[/urll] to face [url=https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 73257.html]Eric Owens. Owens was down 1-2 in the count but sat on a Marks slider and launched it over the left centerfield fence to cap the rally.
Wareham was 2 for 4 with a walk, a triple, scored three runs and drove in two. Sanchez was 1 for 6 with two RBI and scored a run. Owens was 3 for 6 with a triple (4) and his 22nd homer. He drove in three runs and scored two. Jorge Dodd was 2 for 6 with a two-run homer, scored two runs and had four RBI on the day.
Martin ‘Lumps’ Garcia made the start but struggled against the Lumberjacks lineup allowing five runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out three batters in 2.2 innings in a no decision. Gheorghe Sollomovici earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings giving up a hit, walked one and struck out two batters.

Niegloslaw Woywitka throws seven shutout innings to pick up his 13th win of the season for Hawaii. He gave up five hits, walked one and struck out two Utkan Gocek gave up a run in 1.1 innings of relief to earn hits 5th hold. He gave the ball to Marty Pearce to finish the game for his 2nd save.
Carlos Sanchez was 3 for 5 with a double (19) and an RBI. C Enrique Mendoza was 3 for 4 with an RBI and scored a run. Atsushi Gato was 2 for 4 with a triple (1), scored a run and drove in one.

Attendance- 42,553 at The Trail in Multnomah
The Hawaii Tropics score five runs in a big 1st inning against former Tropic Alaric Wullenweber then hold on for a one-run win. The Tropics scored six runs off Wullenweber in 1.1 innings before chasing from the game.
Hawaii starter Semih Gurani eventually coughed up that lead allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits in 4.1 innings. He struck out four in a no decision. Bill Phillips earned the win after allowing a run on 1.1 innings to improve to 1-1. Westbrooks earned his 6th save with a K in 2/3 of an inning.
Mitch Wareham was 3 for 5 and scored two runs. Carlos Shumann was 3 for 4 with a double (31) and three RBI, stole a base (26) and was caught stealing (2).

Hawaii Tropics starter Gerardo Rea had better result in this start but still took a loss as his offense lets him down again. He gave up four runs on four hits and two walks while fanning five batters in 6.2 innings.
The Trops scored two runs to tie the game up in the 5th inning but couldn’t muster another rally. John Harris was 1 for 4 with two RBI.
The Tropics win the series 3-1.
“This series win felt good. We missed Sandy Mounds though.”, said Hawaii Manager Rich Kerr.
