Niegloslaw Woywitka and two reliever hold the Bluebirds offense to a run on six hits and the bottom of the Tropics order provided the pop for the win.
Woywitka pitched 6.2 innings giving up a run on six hits with two Ks. The run came on a solo homer by Nashville CF Alfonso Gonzales in the 4th inning. Bob Westbrooks followed with two scoreless innings with a walk and a K for his 2nd hold. John Moore finished the game with a K of the lone batter he faced.
3B Carlos Antunez was 2 for 4 with a two-run homer (8) in the 3rd inning. C Enrique Mendoza followed with a solo blast (6) and was 1 for 3 with a walk. DH Yodo “Fungo’ Sato was 3 for 4 with two RBI and scored a run. Vincente Mendez was also 3 for 4, scored two runs and drove in one.

The Tropics get 5.2 scoreless inning from starter Semih Gurani and the offense does just enough to hand Bluebird Ace Jim Ploughman his 1st loss of the season.
Gurani allowed just two hits while fanning six batters as he improves to 9-7 with a 3.63 ERA. Utbah ‘Crawdad Me’ bin Muta came on in relief and gave up a run on two hits and three walks as he was a bit wild. He struck out a batter and earned his 2nd hold. Reynaldo Trinidad also gave up a run on two hits and a couple of walks while getting his 3rd hold. Jesus Rios took control of the game giving up just a hit in 1.2 innings. John Moore came on for a one out save, his 2nd save of the season.
3B Carlos Antunez hit another two-run homer (9) in the series with this one coming in the 8th inning providing the Trops a cushion. Antunez was 1 for 3 with a walk, homer, scored two runs and drove in two. Eric Owens was 2 for 4 with a double (28) and an RBI. Mendez was 1 for 3 with a ribbie.

The Bluebirds get back into the series with a drubbing of the Trops. Hawiai starter Gerardo Rea is looking lost on the mound these days. He gave up four runs on six hits and a couple of walks in 5.1 innings. Mop-up pitcher Bill Phillips let the game get away from Hawaii as he gave up three runs to Nashville in 2/3 of an inning.
The Tropics were able to push across just one run with Vincente Mendez driving in Eric Owens in the 9th inning to avoid a shutout. Mendez was 1 for 4 and Owens was also 1 for 4.

Nashville gets the shutout that escaped them in Game 3 with a solid performance by Stevens and Crew. They scattered nine hits, walked one and fanned 12 Tropics in the win.
Trops starter Kinzo Iwamoto wasn’t bad either allowing two runs on seven hits in seven innings of work. He struck out four batters but falls to 11-5 with a 3.36 ERA. Gheorghe Sollomovici gave up two runs on two hits and a walk with two Ks in 2/3 of an inning. Utbah bin Muta induced the only batter he faced into a 3-1 ground out.
Antunez (6) and Mendoza (11) each doubled for Hawaii with Antunez going 2 for 3 and Mendoza 2 for 4.
The Tropics and Bluebirds split the four-game series and Nashville wins the season series 2-6.
