Chicago 1 Hawaii 0- Wednesday, July 19, 2062

WP- Adam ‘Nasty Boy’ Hines (6-6)

LP- Semih Gurani (8-7)

Attendance- 39,635 at ‘Iolani Palace

‘Nasty Boy’ Hines and three relievers easily handle the Tropics offense and come away with a one-run victory. Hines and company allowed Hawaii just three hits, five walks and struck out seven batters in the win.

Hawaii starter Semih Gurani gave up just a run on five hits and a walk while fanning six in five innings but takes the loss. He falls to 8-7 with a 3.84 ERA. Reynaldo Trinidad and Gheorghe Sollomovici combined for four scoreless innings with Sollomovici giving up just a hit and a K.

The offense was shit.

Chicago 11 Hawaii 2- Thursday, July 20, 2062

WP- Carlos Moya (8-5)

LP- Gerardo Rea (3-11)

Attendance- 39,657 at ‘Iolani Palace

The Black Sox blasted a struggling Gerardo Rea for six runs in 1.2 innings and go up 2-0 in the series. Rea allowed eight hits and walked one while striking out one in 54 pitches. Veteran reliever Jesus Rios was also hammered giving up three runs on two hits and a walk in 1.1 innninga.

On offense, John Harris was 2 for 5, with a double (13) and scored a run. Rookie Jorge Dodd was 1 for 5 with an RBI.

Hawaii 2 Chicago 1- Friday, July 21, 2062

WP- Kinzo Iwamoto (11-4)

LP- Tony ‘The Bern’ Radtke (3-6)

Save- Gheorghe Sollomovici (7)

Attendance- 39,727 at ‘Iolani Palace

The Hawaii Tropics come out on top in a pitcher’s duel against Chicago. Kinzo Iwamoto gave up just a run on four hits and two walks while fanning four to get the win. His opposite number, ‘The Bern’ Radtke, gave up two runs on six hits and a couple of walks while striking out four Trops in the loss. Marty Pearce picked up his 12th hold with a clean inning then Sollomovici came on for two scoreless innings with four Ks to earn his 7th save.

Jorge Dodd was 3 for 4 with a ribbie and Mitch Wareham was 1 for 4, scored a run and drove in one.

Chicago 4 Hawaii 0- Saturday, July 22, 2062

WP- Orlando Rubio (5-7)

LP- Gheorghe Sollomovici (3-3)

Save- Gary Powers (10)

Attendance- 39,775 at ‘Iolani Palace

The Chicago Black Sox strike for three runs in the 8th to break a scoreless stalemate and added an insurance run in the 9th to ensure the series win. Trops reliever Gheorghe Sollomovici made his 3rd appearance of the series and it may have been costly for Hawaii. He gave up three runs in just 2/3 of an inning before being removed from the game and took the loss.

The offense was shit. Again.

Chicago wins the series 3-1 and split the season series with Hawaii 4-4.
