The Hawaii Tropics lost a 3-0 lead over the Stars late before finding redemption in extras. Trops starter Jose Ordonez pitched 7.1 solid innings allowing two runs on six hits and a walk with five Ks. Gheorghe Sollolovici finished the 8th for Ordonez to maintain the Trops lead. Reliever Utkan Gocek gave up a run in the bottom of the 9th for his 2nd blown save in this early stage of the season. Westbrooks earned the win after allowing a run in 1.2 innings. He gave up three hits, a walk and struck out two.
LF Eric Owens was 1 for 5 with a two-run homer in the 6th. C Enrique Mendoza was 2 for 5 with a two-run homer in the 12th inning to give the Tropics the lead.

Hawaii two-way player Jose Ordonez drives in six runs as the Trops score 11 to go up 2-0 in the series. Ordonez was 3 for 5 with two homers. The 1st homer was a three-run shot in the 1st inning and the next homer was a two-run blast in the 2nd inning. 3B Mitch Wareham was 4 for 5 with two doubles (2) and a solo homer in the 3rd inning. He drove in three runs and scored one.
Crawdad earned the win after throwing 29 pitches and getting through 2.2 innings. He gave a solo homer to give up his only run. Semih Gurani made the start allowing two runs on four hits while walking four in 4.1 innings. He struck out five in a no decision.

The Hawaii Tropics managed just two runs on three hits and Rule 5 reliever Reynaldo Trinidad struggled as the Trops drop the finale. Trinindad gave up a run on a hit and a walk with two Ks in an inning of work to take the loss. Gerardo Rea made the start allowing two runs on five hits in six innings while fanning four.
Carlos Shumann was 1 for 4 with a double (4) and scored a run. Vincente Mendez was 1 for 3 and scored a run. Mitch Wareham was 0 for 3 with an RBI.
Hawaii wins the series 2-1.
