The Surfers clung to a one-run lead before blowing the game open late to win by 7 over the Trops. Hawaii starter kept the Surfers withing striking distance allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk in 5.2 innings. The bullpen imploded in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings to put the game out of reach.
Hawaii rookie Eric Owens makes his return from the IL going 2 for 4 with a solo homer (9) in the 1st inning. John Harris added his 19th homer of the season with a solo blast in the 4th.

The Surfers outlast the Tropics in a 13-inning battle to go up 2-0 in the series. The Tropics fell behind 9-6 but posted a 5-run inning in the 8th to take a two-run lead into the top of the 9th. Utkan Gocek coughed up the lead though allowing two run to send the game to extras. The team traded runs in the 10th before Garcia walked in the winning run in the 13th to seal the Tropics fate.
Owens was 1 for 5, scored a run and drove in two. Jose Ordonez was 3 for 6 with a walk, two doubles (15), two RBI and scored a run. Na’il bin Hakim was 2 for 2 with a walk, double (3) and a solo homer (1).

Hawaii rookie Eric Owens made his presence felt with two homers off the Surfers to get the Tropics in the win column against Long Beach. Owens was 3 for 4 with a two-run homer (10) in the 2nd inning and another two-run blast (11) in the 4th inning.
Gerardo Rea made the start going 3.1 innings allowing three runs on six hits and a walk while fanning four batters. John Moore took over and earned the win with two scoreless innings allowing two hits with three Ks.

Eric Owens keeps the homerun streak alive, and Jose Ordonez and company keep the Surfers offense in check to earn the Trops a split in the series. Owens was 1 for 4 with a two-run shot (12) in the 4th. Ordonez pitched five innings allowing two runs on five hits. He fanned four to earn his 4th win of the season.
Topan Adjeng followed Ordonez with two scoreless innings the Gocek cleaned up with two more scoreless for the save.
Carlos and Carlos drove in three of Hawaii’s runs to assist Owens and the offense. Carlos Sanchez was 2 for 3 with a walk and a ribbie while Carlos Antunez was 1 for 3, scored a run and drove in two.
The Trops and Surfers split the four-game series.
