Hawaii DH Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez hits his 13th homer and the bottom half of the order powers the team to a win. Julian Rivera hasn’t done much with his glove replacing the injured Carlos Schumann but his bat has been an asset. Rivera was 4 for 5 with a double (4), scored a run and drove in a run but was also caught stealing. Backup catcher Jeff Appleton drove in two runs while going 3 for 4.
Starter Slobodan Omeragic wasn’t as bad as usual and kept the Trops in the game for 3.1 innings. He allowed two unearned runs on two hits, walked two and fanned four in a no decision. Alex Garcia earned the win allowing a run on two hits and a walk in 1.1 innings of work. Utkan Gocek recorded his 4th save of the season allowing a hit before getting the last out.

The Portland Lumberjacks even the series with Hawaii by beating them at their own game. The Lumberjacks had 7 extra base hits out of their 14 and scored 9 runs for the win. Hawaii starter Daniel Thornton gave up five runs on six hits and a walk in 3.2 innings for the loss. The bullpen was tagged for four more runs in 4.1 innings.
Hawaii DH Vicente Martinez hit another homer with his 14th in the 4th inning off Beals. 1B Lorenzo Holloway was 3 for 4 with a double (9), triple (1), scored a run and drove in a run.

The Lumberjacks nip the Tropics in extras off reliever Cale Cote to take the series. Hawaii erupted for three runs in the 8th inning to tie the game at 6-6. Jose Ordonez accounted for all three RBI with a bases clearing triple. The game remained tied until the bottom of the 12th when Greg ‘Mr. Posteseason’ Squires singled off Cote to plate the winning run.
Ordonez was 2 for 6 with four ribbies. Martinez was 1 for 2 with a walk and an RBI. Holloway was 2 for 6 and scored a run. Armando Medina was 1 for 5 with a double (5), walked and scored twice.
On the mound, Semih Gurani gave up a run on four hits in four innings. Alex Garcia was hammered the second time the Lumberjacks saw him allowing three runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Portland wins the series 2-1.
