The Tropics score 9 runs in the 6th inning to blow the game open as they score two touchdowns against the Stars. Hawaii’s offense was powered by 7 extra base hits, 4 of which were homers. Jorge Dodd hit two of those four homers giving him 4 on the season. He was 2 for 4 scored two runs and drove in three. Carlos Sanchez was 1 for 5 but cracked his 3rd homer of the season with a three-run blast in the 6th inning. Lorenzo Holloway hit his 1st career BBA homer in the 6th inning on a solo homer. He was 2 for 4 with a walk, scored two runs and had the one RBI.
Daniel Thornton made the start going 3.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits and two walks. Alex Garcia pitched two clean innings with two Ks to earn the win.
The Tropics had another big day on the basepaths stealing 5 bases. Holloway stole his 1st, Vincente Mendez stole two bases (6) and Carlos Schumann also swiped two bases (6).

Lorenzo Holloway goes 4 for 6 and drove in 6 runs as the Trops put up two touchdowns and a field goal on the Stars. Holloway hit his 2nd homer with a three-run blast in the 5th inning and added two doubles (2) driving in a combined three more runs. Armando Medina was 3 for 4 with a walk, a solo homer (2), three RBI and scored five runs to tie the Hawaii Tropics regular season record. Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez was 2 for 5 with two homers (5), three RBI and a walk.
Semih Gurani made the start pitching four innings giving up a hit and walked four batters. Jorge Ordonez pitched 2.2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win. He walked a batter and struck out one.

The Valencia Stars fall behind the Tropics 3-0 before finally fighting back to tie the game in the 7th inning. The Trops scored a run in the top of the 10th off former Trops farmhand Dave Furman to take the lead. Bob Westbrooks retired two batters in the bottom of the inning then yielded to Utkan Gocek to get the final out.
Westbrooks earned the win after throwing 2.2 innings issuing a walk and struck out two batters. Martin ‘Lumps’ Garcia made the start allowing a run on three hits in five innings. He struck out six batters in a no decision.
Eric Owens was 1 for 2 with two walks and drove in a run. Vincente Mendez was 2 for 4 with a triple (1) and scored two runs. Mitch Wareham was 1 for 3 with two walks and drove in a run.
Hawaii sweeps the three-game series.
