The Tropics score 3 times in the 1st, 4 times in the 2nd and once in the 3rd and race to a series opening win. LF Eric Owens was 3 for 4 with a Grand Slam in the 2nd inning to drive the Hawaii offense. John Harris was 1 for 4 with two RBI and scored a run. Jorge Dodd was 3 for 4 with a double (9), a triple (1), drove in a run and scored a run.
Kinzo Iwamoto used that run support and cruised to his 13th win. He pitched 7.2 innings allowing three runs on four hits with five Ks. Gerardo Rea was given the ball in relief and threw 1.1 scoreless. He gave up a hit and fanned two.

The Bikini Krill even the series with a solid pitching performance against the Trops. Paul Worboys began with 5.1 scoreless innings followed by the bullpen allowing Hawaii just a run in 3.2 innings.
Trops starter Martin Garcia gave up a run on two hits and two walks in four innings of work with six Ks. He falls to 6-8 with a 3.62 ERA. The Krill broke the game open late with two runs off usually reliable reliever Gheorghe Sollomovici in the 8th inning.
Erik Owens was 2 for 4 at the plate for Hawaii with a solo homer (29) and a double (36) while also stealing a base (10).

Erik Owns hits his 2nd Grand Slam of the series and Niegloslaw Woywitka and friends hold the Krill to three runs as Hawaii wins big.
Owens is a machine. He was 3 for 4 with a three-run homer (30) and a Grand Slam (31). He also drew a walk and scored three runs on the day. Vincente Mendez was 3 for 5 with a double (25)m two RBI, scores a run and stole a base (31).
Woywitka pitched 6.1 innings allowing three runs on six hits and a walk while fanning six batters. He improves to 15-4 with a 3.24 ERA. Bill Phillips tossed 1.2 scoreless with two Ks and Jesus Rios threw a scoreless innings with a K.

The Tropics get six, one-run innings from Semih Gurani and the offense puts up five runs to get Hawaii the series win. Gurani gave up the run on just two hits and a walk while fanning five batters. Utbah ‘Crawdad Me’ bin Muta pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief allowing a hit with a K.
Vincente Mendez was 1 for 3 with two RBI and stole his 32nd base. Owens was 1 for 3 with a walk, double (37), scored a run and drove in one. John Harris was 2 for 4 with an RBI and scored a run.
Hawaii wins the series 3-1 and the Trops trail Sacramento by a game in the Pacific Division at 77-57.
