John Scovell delivers a pitch for Berkeley
As the dust settled after the flurry of promotions, draft and free agent signings, and cuts made prior to the start of the season for the Berkeley Golden Bears, the Popes' rookie league affiliate, the bullpen revealed itself to be one of the potentially most talented groups ever assembled in the history of the franchise (a claim that was not researched, whatsoever). All nine relievers have Brewster potential even without bumps to their potentials.

"That's quite a stable of fearsome monstrosities out their in the pen," Golden Bears pitching coach, Danny Lamb said. "I've been doing this a long time, and I've always had several guys who should be flipping burgers rather than flipping curveballs in a Brewster organization. This season is sure different. My job became twenty times more difficult as I'm in charge of making sure those guys reach the levels they should reach with those golden arms they were blessed with."

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.
