On the Diamond Vol. 3 1999

Post by bschr682 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 2:59 pm

Pitcher of the sim:
SP Oscar Funke
1-0 with a 1.12 ERA and 13 K's in 16 IP. Funke was fantastic this sim. Really like how my youngsters have turned out in the rotation.

Batter of the sim:
SS Chris Hartley
.481 AVG in 27 AB's. Absolutely on fire but that doesn't matter much anymore.

5-4 sim. Winning record for the sim once again and put a little distance on the rest of the division. All the positives pale in comparison to the major blow the Crusaders were dealt this sim. SS Chris Hartley, who was on an absolute tear having the 2nd highest batting avg in the Johnson league, suffered a career ending injury. Its such a shame. I was very pleased with how Hartley was developing and providing consistent D and a nice bat but its all over now for him. The Crusaders now need to scramble and find a suitable replacement for this season and the future.

Dang...sucks for Hartley and the Crusaders. I never even knew injuries like that could happen in the game, but obviously they can. That's unfortunate for you, but Kevin Stocker is available (I just released him)! ;)

I will also be shopping Brent Gates when he's back from injury, as he's an impending FA I don't need to re-sign.

I knew they were possible but it had never happened to me. This could be a huge injury if i can't get a quality SS in there.

CEI's suck, no doubt about it. I had Dave Blain go down with a long term injury last season and was set permanently on the shelf this offseason.

Gabriel Steel, MRQ is available too, and deserves a starting job.

That is the same question Black Sox GM was asking. MRQ is a small fish in a big pond. Marquette Suns (Brad Browne).

Oh, I assure you, they can. And it could be worse...it could have been your cleanup hitter.
