Batter of the Sim

SS Jack 'McKeon' Eoff
Jack has had a career rebirth in the desert of Phoenix as he posted a career year a season ago. He continues to play at a high level at the age of 33. How much longer can he keep up this pace? Time will tell. This sim he went .417/.500/.750 with 1 HR and 4 RBI in 24 AB's. On the season he is hitting .304/.357/.435 with 1 HR and 12 RBI. More importantly he is still playing defense, the reason he was brought to PHX in the first place, at a very high level. In 303.2 innings, he has 1 error and a +3.8 ZR.
Runner Up: C Sam Brewington .429/.484/.607 1 HR 5 RBI (.311/.373/.508 7 HR 23 RBI on the season)
Pitcher of the Sim

SP Steve Taub
Steve had another productive sim (2 starts, 2-0 1.62 ERA in 16.2 IP), and once again is putting together a nice season. Taub may be a candidate to go to a contender if Phoenix continues their early season struggles. Signed to a friendly long term deal if you consider that the last year is a team option. On the season he is 3-4 3.35 ERA in 53.2 IP over 7 starts.
Runner Up: SP Russell Vanness 2 starts 1-0 2.12 ERA, 1 CG, 17 IP (3-3 4.37 ERA on the season)
Jackhole of the Sim

OF Corey Warr
An award that is getting way too easy to pick, it will be renamed here soon if this keeps up. Warr once again takes home the prize (.216/.237/.405 2 HR 3 RBI). On the season he is hitting .169/.238/.309 with 5 HR and 10 RBI after hitting .300/.371/.552 with 39 HR and 116 RBI a season ago. He will get it going at some point, right?
Runner Up: 1B Vicente Vasquez .184/.244/.395 2 HR 7 RBI (.321/.406/.686 13 HR 35 RBI on the season)
Team News and Notes
Not much to report, RF Robert Harrell is close to returning from the DL. The team figures it will take about a week for him to return to action......the amateur draft continues as the team continues to stock the farm with a "best player available approach". Recent picks are SS Frank Griffin (Rd 2A #61 overall), 1B Kelly Head (Rd 3 #70 overall), P Billy Smith (Rd 4 #105 overall), 1B Jimmy Robbins (Rd 5 #131 overall). Look for more on these picks, and the two before them, once the draft is complete.......Go Talons!
