In his prime, the 30 year old first baseman is off to a torrid start in '08. This line, .344/.475/.781 with 4 HR and 8 RBI, is why he wins the batter of the sim. It's starting to look like Vicente will be a little more consistent with bigger bats around him.

The city of Phoenix is full of excitement, a big reason is the re-acquisition of Klopp. in this sim he went 1-1 in two starts with a 3.24 ERA. He wins the award for the 16.2 innings he covered in those two starts.

CL Jeffery Martin
Martin continues his struggle from a season ago. In 1.1 IP he walked 5 and gave up 3 runs for a sparkling 20.25 ERA. It doesn't help that he wasn't in his typical closer's spot because the moron GM didn't set up the pitching staff after spring training. Thank God he's not eligible for this award.
The 4-5 start is not ideal, but it's early and things will even out. In other news, P Dong-Joo Kim has come off of the DL and will be thrown into the fire immediately. He has missed the last nine months after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Ramon Mendoza was optioned to AAA Flagstaff.
