C Cecil Durdle Acquired in the Quinn Greene trade, Durdle, 24, hit .268 in AA and .286 in AAA in split duty across the two levels. He had an OPS+ of 109 in AA and 99 in AAA. He's thrown out 42% of baserunners in AAA, showing an arm that's deceptively strong.
"We expect Cecil to compete for the backup catcher role in Yellow Springs in 2062," said McMonigal. He's got a lot of potential.
SP Dewey Harris Selected in the second round of the 2058 draft, Harris has been making his way up the ranks steadily and almost earned a call-up in late 2061. After a lights out performance to start 206 in AA, Harris was 9-5 with a 3.77 ERA in 21 starts in Indanapolis, with a1.20 WHIP, 2.4 WAR, and 87 FIP-. Harris is a former A-ball All Star and third place finisher for Pitcher of the Year.
"Dewey is exactly the shot in the arm we need for our rotation," said McMonigal. "If he has a strong spring, he's in. We got several trade offers for him, according to Bo, while I was...away. Glad he's still with us."
IF Dennis Rollins Selected in the 6th round of the 2055 draft, Rollins, still just 23, had a combined WAR of 3.8 in mixed time between AA and AAA in 2061. In 42 games with Indianapolis, Rollins notched an amazing .400 OBP. A 3-time best hitter at second base (once in high school and twice within the Nine organization), he also has a Pat Carter Glove Award from rookie ball.
"Dennis can be a solid contributor if we have a need," said McMonigal. "We were sure we'd lose him in the Rule 5 Draft if left unprotected.
RP Javier Diaz Selected in the 4th round of the 2056 draft, Diaz, 25, was the closer for the Spartans in AA in 2061, where he notched 27 saves with a 1.98 ERA. His k/9 was 9.8 and his FIP- was 56. He had 34 shut down performances and a leverage index of 1.94.
"Diaz, if he can keep it up, has a future in Yellow Springs to bolster our bullpen," said McMonigal.
RP Manuel Flores Selected in the 11th round of the 2057 draft, Flores is still just 21 years old, but requires protection because of how many years he's bee in pro ball, starting at the tender age of 16 due to graduating early. He had 39 saves for the Tarpons in 2061with a 2.34 leverage index and 27 shut downs.
"I really love Manuel's potential," said McMonigal. He's still rough around the edges plenty of room to grow in all areas. He might have made it through, but I wasn't taking a chance. If he can settle in and really start to live up to what my scouts tell me, we've got a superstar reliever on our hands. And from the 11th round of the draft, too!
All 5 players will officially report to Major League training camp in the spring for the first of what they hope will be many years to come.
