The Yellow Springs Nine congratulate starting pitcher Hannes Schwarzacher on being named to his first All Star Game in his second season as a member of the big league team. Schwarzacher, 25, is the team's lone representative. The young man is having a great season despite the overall record of the team, going 5-6 with a 2.98 ERA, striking out 7.5 batters per nine innings.

"While we wish he had some teammates on the squad, I couldn't be happier for Hannes," said Nine General Manager Rob McMonigal. "He's a phenomenal talent who has succeeded at every level and keeps us in every game. He's had 8 quality starts so far – last year he finished with 10 overall. That's amazing progress."
Schwarzacher was also an All Star in college, and twice as a minor leaguer, in 2056 and 2058. He split time in A and AA in 2057, which is likely the only reason he didn't receive a nod that year. He is also a former Fox Mulder winner as well as a Drake Pitcher of the year.
"I'm honored to get the nod and represent the fans of Yellow Springs," said Schwarzacher. "But given I just pitched the other day, I'm not sure they'll get to see me on streaming in my All Star duds out on the mound. But you never know. I promise if I do, I'll do my very best."
Doing his best is what this young pitcher with a bright future does each and every game.
