The Mexico City Aztecs have made the following trades:
Traded 25-year old 1B Kaldhuta Sundhararajan to the Boise Spuds in exchange for 36-year old and former Aztec 2B Ryan Geauxinue and 19-year old 2B prospect Jonathan Oates
This is a homecoming for Geauxinue but this trade was more about getting Oates who is a decent prospect and middle infield depth in our farm system. I think the trade worked out well for both teams, as it freed up some payroll for Boise and landed Oates. Hopefully Oates stays healthy and doesn't get hurt. "I can't go for that"
Traded 19-year old minor league catcher Peter Atkinson and 21-year old minor league catcher Mark Nickles to the Long Beach Surfers in exchange for 19-year old RHP David Sandoval
Hated to give up two decent catcher prospects but really needed the pitching depth. Long beach knows what they are doing, they aren't giving away pitching for free. Sandoval lacks control and work ethic but like my teenage son who is sometimes "out of touch", hopefully he figures it out.
Traded 25-year old CF Mike Crowson in exchange for reliever Luis Brown.
This trade was "one on one" and was more of a change of scenery for both players. We do not expect Brown to ever leave the minor leagues due to poor movement and control.
Traded CF Tsurayaki Yagi to Cobble Hill Robins in exchange for RF Kosami Ota and LF Alfredo Dame
This was one of the more fun trades i've been a part of as my AFBI alter ego "Benjamin" agreed to a trade on his phone while standing at an open bar at a wedding. Cobble Hill GM was gracious enough to throw me a bone after the dust settled. He needed a CF and it is good to see Yagi get a fresh start. he wasn't taking the steps needed in Mexico City which is why he was left unprotected in Rule 5. This proves Benjamin can't be trusted, he's a "maneater"
These were decent trades all around and hopefully we have improved our organization. Hopefully Jon Oates can take the next steps and be a contributor in Mexico City in a few years. If so, "you make my dreams come true."
