"How would you address the fake baseball allegations from another GM in the league?
GM Brandon Tucker:
First of all, I have no ill will towards any GM in this league for the way they run their team or anything else.
Each GM is free to manage their organization as they see fit to get the most enjoyment out of their experience.
As far as the fake baseball allegations:
From a thousand feet in the air looking down, yes, it is 100% fake baseball.
But when you get closer you start to see that this league is different from all the other leagues out there in that it is a full immersive experience.
From writing team news to retiring numbers, making a case for the HOF, and contributing to an established deep history of the league. The way you start in the GBC and have to earn a spot in the BBA is unique as well.
But what really sets this league apart is the community of guys in this league that all appreciate the deep history and integrity of the league.
Those who are here now, and those who came before us. Many of those guys who used to be in the BBA still read the forums and chat on discord. I don’t know any other league that brings former members back to discuss fake baseball and other topics.
For me it’s a community that I feel accepted in and that I can talk about life things. As many of you know I had to take a leave of absence from media and team news earlier this year after losing my grandson or even now that I am facing a minor heart procedure.
These are all things I can open up about and discuss, ask for advice, or just vent.
There is no other league I’ve been in that would give a shit about any of that for the most part.
In the end I feel the integrity of this league is something we are all charged with protecting.
And when there are constant seemingly haphazard 10 for 10 player trades etc,
I feel that it somewhat threatens that integrity that so many before us have built.
Of course, this is only my opinion.
But in the end hey, it’s just fake baseball right?
