Mexico City, Mexico: The Mexico City Aztecs have signed former Nashville Bluebird and Monty Series MVP Wafid Bishr. Bishr has spent his entire career with the Bluebirds after signing a minor league contract with the organization in 2044. He is a two-time MVP, a two-time playoff MVP, and has been selected to eight All-Star games. He also won back-to-back Sawyer Silk awards in 2051 and 2052.
His resume is impressive. Some of his career stats up to this point are as follows:
362 HR
1,094 RBI
1,817 Hits
1,130 Runs
233 SB
.297 batting average
56.5 career WAR
"We are thrilled to add a player of Wafid's caliber to this team. We wanted to improve our team while also adding a big splash-free agent to open up our new Quetzalcoatl Dome and give the fans another reason to come to the ballpark. We feel that he checks all of those boxes, and we are excited to see what he is able to accomplish in 2061 as a member of our organization," said Mexico City GM Brandon Tucker.
