2022.3: Sim 1 Recap

Post by Rubaboo » Thu Jul 23, 2015 10:25 pm

2022 Sim #1

What went right:

Kinda hard to write this when my team was 2-7 to start the season, but Valentin Colon had a great first ML sim, hitting .366/.366/.390 and stealing 3 bases, Jose Gonzalez posted a .290/.312/.774 slash line with 4 homers. My sluggers (Burke, Brito, Gonzalez) did some slugging. Aside from that, it was kind of a disaster.

Batter of the Sim:

Bob Burke
.314/.359/.629 with 3 HRs will get it done for the Prowler.

Starting Pitcher of the Sim:

Atsumori Maeda
In 2 starts, Maeda was 0-1 with a 2.92 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. He pitched 12.1 innings, striking out 13 and walking 5.

Relief Pitcher of the Sim:

Harry Considine
Considine is relegated from the rotation to start the season. Well, relegated to the closer role and he pitched well there in Sim 1. He collected 2 saves in 2 opportunites, and struck out 9 in 6 innings. He posted a 1.50 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP.

What went wrong:

Team BA was .262, which is lower than you'd like. Alain Perras, who hit .071/.103/.071 and Juan Pablo, who hit .135/.200/.162 were awful in Sim 1, meaning my two best hitters from last season were my biggest anchors to start 2022. My bullpen was ok, except for Jorge Soto who posted a 0-3 record and a 18.69 ERA.

Duh. .071/.103/.071 is bad. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDD...

Least Best Starting Pitcher of the Sim:
Image
Sebastien Durand
...because I had to pick someone... Durand was 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. He worked 11 innings, striking out 7 and walking 3. Acceptable Sim 1, but hopefully he'll get better as he adjusts to the MBBA game.

Least Best Reliever of the Sim:

Jorge Soto
0-3, 18.69 ERA, 3.46 WHIP, 2 Ks vs 5 walks in 4.1 IP. I have nothing to add to this.

Summing it up:

I had 5 guys hit over .300, but had 5 guys hit under .250. My starters had decent outings across the board, but Soto was just a giant pile of disgusting garbage out of the pen. Got outscored 38-29 in 9 games, so a run a game. Pretty average start, but some bad luck ends in a 2-7 Sim 1. I'm not panicking. This is a young team with a bunch of new guys that will need some time to gel. Excited to see what the rest of the season will bring, bring on Sim 2!
