Moore, 33, brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of success in the BBA, with a career 3.17 ERA over 1,068.1 innings pitched. The longtime Sacramento and Des Moines standout is coming off a stellar 2061 season, where he went 16-5 with a 3.18 ERA over 167.0 innings, proving he still has plenty left in the tank.
Wolves GM Simon spoke highly of Moore’s consistency and ability to eat innings at a high level.
"Mark is exactly the type of pitcher we wanted to bring in—durable, dependable, and effective," said Simon. "He’s coming off three straight seasons of sub-3.40 ERAs, and he has the kind of experience that will be invaluable to our younger arms. With his mix of control and composure on the mound, we see him as a major asset to our rotation as we push for a championship."
Moore, a former key piece of Sacramento’s rotation, expressed his excitement about joining the Wolves.
"I’m thrilled to be here in Madison," said Moore. "This is a team on the rise, and I believe I can help them get to that next level. I’ve had some great battles against the Wolves over the years, and I know how tough they are. Now, I get to be on their side, and I can’t wait to get to work."
Since transitioning into a full-time starting role in 2058, Moore has solidified himself as a reliable frontline arm, posting double-digit wins in each of the last four seasons while maintaining a career WHIP of 1.23. His ability to limit home runs (just 78 allowed in over 1,000 innings) and keep hitters off balance makes him a valuable addition to Madison’s rotation.
With Moore in the fold, the Wolves add a proven veteran presence to a pitching staff looking to take the next step. Fans can expect to see him make his Madison debut when the team reports for spring training.
