The Wyoming Wire, Vol I, #1 - GM Elliott Takes the Helm

It's been a turbulent year for the MBBA, but it appears the worst is behind the league, which was one step from going bankrupt. With the good news of the impending new season finally on firm ground, the Madison Wolves celebrated by reaching back into ancient history for their new GM. Texan Gates Elliott took the call from Madison brass and accepted the responsibility of turning this team into a winner. Elliott was the original GM of the Manhattan Myst back in 1973 and little is known about what happened when he left the club under mysterious circumstances. For most of the 70's it's nearly impossible to track the enigmatic general manager. Some reports had him in Mexico for several years, others say he got religion and moved into a monastery for 20 years. No doubt the investigative journalists will get to the business of tracking that story down. Whatever he was doing, wherever he was, he is now firmly in command of the Wolves franchise.

Elliott had this to say at the press conference, "I am thrilled to step in and get to work turning the Wolves into winners. We've got a good talent base, with some incredible young players. My job is going to be to direct the development of that talent and to acquire some crucial parts to complement the base we have. I think this division is going to be winnable and we plan to be in the running." When asked about his past 20 years, Elliott said, "The past is the past. Suffice it to say that I have always been a baseball man, and I am glad to be back doing what I do best. Oh, and if you hear anything about a donkey, some garden shears, and a bottle of glue, I promise it's not true."
