🪚 GERTIE ON THE DRAFT: WELCOME TO THE SAW MILL

You know what softens a three-game losing streak? Knowing that in a few short weeks, we get to add a generational monster to the pack. His name?

Carlos “Bandsaw” Cruz.
20 years old. Left-handed. From Murrieta, California.
And soon, the face of the Madison Wolves rotation for the next decade.

This is not just a good pitcher. This is a franchise-realigning, league-redefining lefty terminator who throws five different kinds of pain and makes batters question their life choices. You don’t call a guy “Bandsaw” unless he shreds limbs and dreams—and that’s exactly what he does.
“Sinker. Curve. Slider. Splitter. Each one sharper than a wolf fang dipped in vinegar. And the kid throws 93–95 with a 74% groundball rate?!”

Let's break him down:

Carlos Cruz – SP – General Mills Lucky Charms (COL)
Bats: L / Throws: L / Age: 20
Nickname: “Bandsaw”

Current Stuff/Movement/Control: 9 / 9 / 7
Potential: 9 / 11 / 7
Top Pitches:
  • Sinker – 10/11
  • Curveball – 11/11
  • Slider – 9/11
  • Splitter – 11/11
Velocity: 93–95 mph
Arm Slot: Over the Top
GB%: 74%
Stamina: 6 Hold Runners: 10

College Career:
In three years at General Mills CCAS (yes, really), Cruz put up a 34% K rate, held hitters to a .360 BABIP (because college defenses), and posted nearly 11 WAR in 182 innings. He struck out 260 and allowed just 15 homers. Oh, and when he had bad defense behind him? He just struck out the next guy anyway.

This is the guy you tank for.

I don’t care if his ERA in 2063 was 4.04 — watch the tape. That defense would’ve made a wiffle ball team blush. Cruz still carved.
“Drafting Bandsaw isn’t just drafting a player — it’s getting a tentpole. It’s a message to the league: The Wolves are done hoping. We’re coming.”
Come Mayish....June, the Madison Wolves get the #1 overall pick. And we’re using it to build a damn empire. The rest of the league? Start planning for 2065...err 2063. Because that’s when Carlos Cruz arrives—and we stop asking nicely.

Hell, yeah. Gonna love watching him carve up Bluebirds for suppers.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Watch his innings at the end of the year. He got 62 in college already, but is going to be fun watching him settle toward the top of the SP ranks.
