September 1st, 2049 - Its that time of year again where the rosters are expanded for those playoff hopefuls who look to give the major league club that little something extra to get them to the dance. For the 2049 playoff chase GM Simon and HC Will Myers worked with the teams' scouts and analytics department to call up the following players to the club:

Pitchers:
Image
27yo RHRP - Ira Dawson Drafted in the first round of the 2044 by GM Simon, Dawson got his first taste of the BBA in only his 2nd season after being drafted rocketing up the Wolves MiLB system. He struggled however, going 4-12 and posting a 5.09 ERA. He has since spent the last 3.5 season with South Bend working with pitching coach Ed Eldrige. He will be used as a specialist out of the pen vs RHB where he posts a 3.21 ERA this year.

29yo LHRP - John O'Corgley Another 1st round pick for Madison making his way back to the bigs. Drafted by the Wolves in 2043 out of Apple I-Team college, hes done well in his time in the MiLB showing up on the leaderboards in 2044 ranked #1 in winning % and 1st in HRA in 2043. Another player rushed to fast to the bigs in 2045, it did not go well, posting a 6.36 ERA in just 23.2 innings. He also has spent the better part of the last three seasons since working with AAA PC Ed Eldridge. Having made some additional short stints with the Wolves when needed, his longest in 2047 where he posted a 2.22 ERA in 69 innings in relief. So far in AAA this season he has posted a .227 BABIP vs Lefty hitters.

24yo RHRP - Michael Shepard Shepard was called up in late August right before rosters expanded, as GM Simon felt that 31yo RHRP Felipe Mendez with his .392 BAIP was not going to help the club during the September push towards a postseason berth. Drafted in 2044 in the 2nd round by the Wolves, he ranked first in Rookie ball in Holds. This will be his
first trip to the bigs as he has spent the last 3 seasons at AAA South Bend, where he's posted a 2.39 ERA in 107.1 IP. To date since hes joined the club in replacement of Mendez, he's been thrown 14.1 innings out of the pen posting a .189 BABIP and a 2.51 ERA.

Hitters:

23yo CF - Alfonso Salazar The 23yo was brought up for one reason and one reason only. Speed. Debuting at the age of 20 in SA ball, the international find out of Puerto Rico in 2042 he's slowly made his way up to AA Burlington, where he has spent the last 2.5 season stealing a 127 bases and was caught only 22 times, almost an 84% sucess rate. Every one of these remaining games is critical to our chances of making the post season GM Simon said. If we can steal a few runs with some fast baserunners, that might make the difference in watching the playoff or being in them. I know WolvesNation doesn't want to see us miss again by 1 game again this year.

25yo 1B - Barry O'Quinn The 25yo and the 2nd half of the "Irish Mob" (along with his road roomie O'Corgley) as they are called in South Bend was brought up for a bat off the bench, and if needed give Mann a rest and split time at first along with Hernandez or DH. Mann was recently diagnosed with a day-to-day oblique strain. If we can sit him a few days, and not lose a step with Barry & Jose, we should be okay HC Myers said. Quinn was a 2nd round supplemental pick for the Wolves in 2042 out of Unit Carbide College.
