It had to be Loserville. On Wednesday night against the Sluggers, the Bluebirds set a new Frick league record with their 120th win. This, of course, broke the record set by the Bluebirds last season. Three games and three wins later, Nashville is currently at 123 wins with five games to play. This 2059 has been something special and with a 1692 ELO on top of the BBA wins record, quite possibly the greatest team ever assembled. However, the job isn’t finished until they lift the Monty, which they hope to do for the third time in ten seasons.
Nashville clinched a playoff spot back in August and claimed home field shortly after. The week of rest will be much needed as the Bluebirds limp into the playoffs. Eric Stevens will remain out of the playoffs after tearing his meniscus, but the trainer’s room has been occupied by several other players. Tracking balls down in centerfield has proved taxing on Crissy Tingle’s body and it has shown in recent years. He recently returned to the lineup after nearly two months while he dealt with back problems. He is being eased into the lineup. Meanwhile, his outfield partner and Silk favorite, Juan Rivera, is battling his own injury after spraining his thumb on Saturday. He will be missing the final week of the season in hopes he returns healthy for the Doubleday Series. Mark Lolololo left his latest start after feeling tightness in his shoulder, which is the last thing the Bluebirds need as they head into the playoffs. He will be shelved for the next two weeks as he aims to start Game 1 of the Doubleday Series.

"We've got some planned rest days ahead," said GM Chad Nason, "but we still don't wanna take our foot off the gas. We want to set a mark that won't be beat. 128 wins sounds nice. We have a week off after the season ends to heal any remaining bumps and bruises, so we just need to avoid any serious injuries until then."
While the next five games seem meaningless, everyone will be watching carefully at how the Bluebirds rest their players as they head into the postseason. All the while, excitement surrounds Nashville to see how many wins they wind up with to set a new record.
