Esteban Sanchez was quickly finding his cigar company losing profits and turned his focus into training his sons to play baseball so they could pay for his retirement. His first born, Fernando, worked diligentlyto become the best ball player he could be to make his dad proud. Though he wasn’t a highly-touted prospect as a kid, his cigar rolling experience led to massive forearms that helped Sanchez swing the bat with much force and he was drafted in the 7th round in 2055 by the Nashville Bluebirds.
Sanchez wasn’t supposed to be anything more than a minor league filler. Someone who could play 1B or DH up to the AAA level. He didn’t impress much in his first stint in rookie ball, however, from 2056-2058 he would be one of the most feared hitters. As he moved up the ranks in the minor leagues, his numbers leveled off, but were very respectable. Then in 2060, something really clicked and Sanchez was believed by scouts to be the next great HR hitter. Sanchez will prove he can be that in AAA, but should be the team’s 1B/DH with De-shi Kuo after a few weeks if all goes well.
