August 1 - And the turd of a season for the Bobwhites continues as they go 11-13 in July. Now that's almost their best month of the year which is just sad. Their batters continue to do a good job...a little more pop in the lineup might help but otherwise not much to complain about but the pitching...oh....the pitching. The bullpen is a joke and the starters aren't far behind. When is GM Manuel going to address the glaring hole in this team? What will it take? Trading away some of the young hitters? Who knows but this slow build doenst appear to have much pitching in the pipeline.
Washington Pitcher of the month: CL - Larry Morgan
Larry had a nice month shutting down games for Washington even though he only had 4 saves for the month he only allowed 5 hits in 7 innings of work while striking out 9 without walking anyone. He posted a nice 1.29 ERA as well.
Bobwhite Bopper of the Month: Hank Randall
Hank had a very nice July for the Bobwhites by hitting .319 in 19 games. He smacked 10 doubles and 1 homerun while driving in 10 and scoring 12 runs himself.
