Washington Watch 2014 Volume 2: May

Post by Manny » Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:39 am

June 1, 2013 - Another horrible month for the Bobwhites and I start to sound like a broken record with this team, thankfully this job pays me well enough that I can handle watching this team throughout the season. A few bright spots are there to watch but GM Manuel has assembled a horrible team that is still a ways off from being a contender in this league. Going 10-19 for the month will only help provide a better draft pick and despite playing in the league's weakest division they only have an 8-9 record within their division. They have allowed the most runs in the JL and have the league's worst bullpen. It's going to be a long year again Bobbie faithful.

Washington Bobwhite Pitcher of the Month: Jeff Simpson

Not really a lot of good stuff to report pitching wise but Jeff here takes the honor after starting 4 games and going 1-1 in 31 innings. He held batters to a .200 AVG and posted a 3.19 ERA with a really nice 1.03 WHIP.

Bobwhite Bopper of the Month: Juan Garcia

One of the very few reasons to even watch the Bobwhites is the play of their excellent centre fielder Juan Garcia. He plays an above average centre field but his bat is where he truly shines as he hit a fantastic .364 in May while driving in 20 runs. If he had some real talent around him he might be able to put up some even better numbers.
