I Have No Creative Title 96.1 - Ready To Roll!

I really don't have a creative TN title. So my title is "I have no creative title". Don't like it? Suggest one that isn't fucking lame.

The 1996 season is about to start for the Sluggers, and optimism still reigns after a disappointing end to the 1995 season. True to the team name, we're going to have to slug our way to another division title, at least to begin with. The infield is probably the most stacked in the MBBA (or at least the JL). It's so good, we're actively shopping a 18/13/12/12/11 1B-man just because we simply do not have room for him. Because really, it's either bench him or a guy who hit 35 HR in 517 AB last year and was on his way to a HR title before he got hurt. Tough choice, and with us being near the cap, might as well trade the one who is more expensive so we can find pitching help.

We're not thrilled with the outfield, but we think it will be adequate, not to mention great defensively. Well, except for Daniels. Two out of three ain't bad.

The pitching is a different story. DiBart isn't ready to start the year, although he basically made it out lump-free. Cone is now a waste and I'll basically pay someone to take his salary for this year. Gil Daniels, the 43-save man, had more lumps in this offseason than a herd of camels and won't even be the team's closer this year. Apparently he realized he was 36. Hass will be the '96 closer, and even he hasn't avoided lumps. Sigh.

Nothing interesting on the prospect front either, except for Vallejo. I still think he's a year away - no reason to rush him.
