GM Hopkins enters the quiet Slugger locker room. The Sluggers have just lost 5-4 to hated divisional rivals Baltimore, despite a 2 run rally in the ninth inning against vaunted Baltimore closer Enrique Reyna.

"Great job guys,"GM Hopkins announces,"Except for you Diaz...bases loaded, two outs, and you leave the bat on your shoulder on a 2-2 count? Bah."

"But that's not why I'm here,"GM Hopkins continues,"I'm here to congratulate our starting rotation, 3 shutouts in the last ten games? Outstanding! All 5 starters, please come up here."

"Whoa...not so fast Blanco and Bandelow!"

"What? C'mon skip, I'm starting to work shit out, you can't take me out of the rotation."Blanco complains.

"Yeah!"choruses the room,"Blanco's a beauty, baby! Give him a chance!"

'I'm sorry guys, I've traded Blanco to Greenville."

"The Moonshiners! C'mon GM, they're in our freakin division...Blanco is gonna kill us! How could you do this to us?"the players complain.

"The Viper joins us tomorrow."

"The Viper?"the players exclaim,"...What are you still doing here Blanco? Get the fuck out of here."

Blanco is kicked out the dressingroom door,"Hey guys...my stuff!"

"We'll mail it! Get the fuck out!"

GM Hopkins turns to the players once more. "Ok guys, I've decided to let Chris Allen take Bandelow's place in the rotation. Allen's been performing really well out of the pen this summer...he deserves his chance...and Bandelow, don't worry, you'll go into long relief for a while, try to pull your stuff together...I know you got it in you."

Pat Hughes angrily stalks up to GM hopkins,'What is this shit? I've been here way longer than Allen. I outperformed him last year. That's my spot!"

"Hmmm...you have a point Pat...but it doesn't really matter."

"Oh yeah? Why not?"

"You've been traded to Montreal."

"Montreal, eh? First place club wants me, and you can't even put me in the rotation of this mess. Bet you got a mint for me."

"Umm...no...not really...the guy we got might make Triple A...one day."

"Wha..."

"Seriously...I just wanted you gone...I got last season's Triple A pitcher of the year wasting his time in Triple A again this year, I had to move someone off the roster to get him up here...frankly I would have taken a ham sandwich in return for you. I just got to give this kid a chance."

"Umm..."

"Get the fuck out of here, Pat."

"Yeah!"The room chorsuses,"Fuck off, Pat!"

Hughes leaves, and GM Hopkins addresses the room once more."Ok guys, get your rest, we got some tough games coming up against Baltimore and Long Beach, until we play Seattle in a week and can take a bit of a break."

"Ughh...Seattle...what a shit hole!"
