Moonshiners Moniter, 2.9: The trade deadline

Post by jkloes1 » Fri Mar 04, 2011 10:07 pm

Unfortunately, due to unforseen computer issues, Greenville has not only been quite, but relatively non-existant during the trade deadline. To have the opportunity to write this update, is a rare occasion. One that will be brief to be sure. Since the last Moniter update, which was the May Review, The Moonshiners have been able to compete in the JL Atlantic and continue to be only 1 1/2 games back in the division. Though posting a 6-4 record over the past sim, the Shiners have dropped back to 9 1/2 games in the wild card behind California. "Well it looks like we will just have to win the division, and that was the first goal for success of this team." Said GM Jeff Kloes.

"This has been a wild ride for some of us this season, and some really bright spots have emerged from some unforeseen places." Roman Empire has followed up last seasons great season with another, Dan Manville and Jack Urban, though not the power that has been previously seen, are still putting up great numbers. Randy Tomlin, has been one of the brightest spots on the pitching staff, posting a 3.34 ERA and leads the team with 11 wins. "All and all, we've done some good things, and we still need work on others. I am hopefully that we will play well enough still to make the playoffs, and travel far into the playoffs, and hopefully finish the season as champs." Exclaimed Jeff Kloes. "We just need to be able to stay on top of things. Its a shame we won't be able to do any trading this year, although it is difficult to determine who should go, and where we would need the help. I think we are in pretty good shape to make a run."

August is here and the Shiners are still there, ready to make the post season run. August brings some sub .500 teams, in fact the only two with a winning record are division leaders Madison and Vancouver.
