Brooklyn State of Mind: Robins End 13 Game Losing Streak (2062.2)

It was perhaps fitting that the Robins would end their 13 game skid against the Swamp Foxes. It has been no secret that the Robins have struggled with a young pitching staff finding their footing and a rash of injuries. That being said, losing 13 games in a row is going to be the longest losing streak this year in the BBA. So when the middle game started down in North Carolina, the Robins were literally and figuratively in a swamp of losing against a team named for a general who thrived in the swamps of the Carolinas.

Jose Torres has been coming back from his injury and seems to be up and down this year, but ended up giving the Robins 5 good innings before handing it over to the bullpen. Thanks to getting some run support, the bullpen by and large was able to shut things down with Cade Miller pitching a good 9th inning to get the save.

So, this was a game that frankly isn't going to be on a top 10 list. A 5-3 game with the scoring being done by the time we got into the back end of the bullpen for Brooklyn would be a couple of paragraphs in the papers. But for the Robins, they are looking to win as many games as possible and see where it takes us. Probably not the playoffs, but the Pythag record indicates that things could be slightly better. And with a major contributor coming back in the next week or two, we could see the Robins finally get to work with a lineup that could give them a chance.

I am concerned. My thoughts at this point is that it could be something to do with coming back from his injury. Hopefully it is just a rough patch.
